The leaves were based on a drawing I made of some vetch, a weed in my garden. On either side of the central floral motif are some tulip stitches. The floral forms above and below consist of berry (double detached chain) stitches. I used a piece of a decorator fabric sample as the base.

Oh me Oh my- this is the most beautiful weed I have EVER seen! I am going to have sketch out something similar and put it on my crazy quilt this week for Sharon's challenge with the lazy daisy
This is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing it!
Connie, this is lovely. Your samples are always so beautifully composed.
Conni, I am beginning to take your wonderful work for granted in that I realize I come here expecting to see something beautiful! And not only am I never disappointed but I am also surprised by what you come up with. This is wonderful.

Thanks so much for all of your kind and encouraging words!
That's really a different floral arrangment. It looks great!
I liked the buttonhole pieces underneath, too. I love the look of buttonhole applique.
I'm coming in late here but must say how I agree with all the other comments. I'm always pleased to see from bloglines that you have another post - embroidery, sketch, photo, I know it will be a pleasure to look at.
Thanks for your kind comments, Susan and Alice. They are much appreciated...
