Jeepers Creepers!

Here is another combination of felt and trellis stitch. I lightly needle felted the eye shape, iris and pupil to the felt background; then worked several rows of trellis stitch over the top to create the dimensional eyelids.

Oh. My. Gosh.

Brilliant application of the trellis stitch! And I love the combo of needlefelting and embroidery. I just published a link to this post on my blog. I hope it brings you a few extra clicks.

I too wanted to say that this is a great interpretation of trellis stitch.

Oh my goodness! What you are doing with the trellis stitch, twisted trellis. I'm still struggling with getting the spacing right with trellis stitch for filling a leaf shape! As you will see. Boy, am I a slow learner! Love all your experiments with the stitch. What fun.
