I spent a little time out in the screenhouse this afternoon playing with paint on Peltex. Here are two possible backgrounds for my Creative Embroidery lessons. I’m sure getting my money’s worth out of my dollar stamps!

These are gorgeous. I love the colors you used in them. Your colors blend together so well. I always have a hard time getting mine to blend together smoothly.
Thanks, Micki - I sent you an e-mail...
I love these colours - is Peltex what I would call craft or pelmet Vilene (Pellon)?
Thanks, Kay Susan - I sent you an e-mail...
Wow! Very nice! I was looking at Peltex the other day and was wondering if it was the same as Vilene. On the pkg. Peltex is described as double-sided fusible ultra firm stabilizer.
There is a great tutorial for making fabric postcards at
http://calidoresgardener.blogspot.com/
and that's why I'm looking for vilene. :-) I think Peltex may save a step in the process. Any ideas?
Thanks, Debbie!
I’m not sure if Vilene is the same as Peltex. Peltex is available with iron-on adhesive (so it may save time and money), but that’s not what I used, here.
Thanks for the crazy-quilt postcard link – gotta put that on the “to do” list…
Is the Peltex you used not fusible, but something different? :-)
Debbie, Peltex is available in both plain and fusible versions. I haven't tried the fusible, yet.
